The state of the country compels me to write a blog after such a long time!!
Infact why blame the country!! Hasnt it given us what actually we all wanted to have!! The blame is on the people who live within!!
But back to the topic i guess which i want to discuss and to let people know how i feel about what is actually happening! My take on the world, my take on the country and my take on the people!!!
What compels me to write is the discussions we are having these days about the upcoming elections!
Got into a discussion with my friend and realised that we the people are so self centered!! And that aspect shows in the discussions as well!! We actually dont care what would happen and indulge in discussions, thinking of it as a smart way to ward off boredom!!
We like talk of all the big things and no one wants to jump into it!! Politics i mean to say!! Thinking of it as a filthy business!! And those who do go for it they do for the glamour and the money it brings!! And that self centered approach bleeds through to the society like an addiction!! Now about the general public including me and whoever wants to volunteer!! We often say that loadshedding has been a big problem!! Is it?? Or should it be for the people who have arranged for an alternative source of energy to keep their house lit!! Amongst all the darkness your's is the only house being lit is taken as a status symbol!! Do we really care for someone outside the house?? Outside the family?? And people expect us to care for our country!!!
We the future intellectuals in reality know nothing in reality! Or are running away or ignoring what is in front of us!! Really caring citizens of a great country i must say!!
With the officials and so called heroes and saviours being self centered (corrupt), the so called intellectuals in the same vane how could the majority of the under-previliged be left behind!!
How can we assume that the country would be in the hands of someone who would keep it safe!!
The spirit of democracy died along with Muhammad Ali Jinnah!! On the same day, at the same time!! Coincedence isnt it? Bhutto made an effort to restore it and is appreciated till date!! The rest is a tale to forget!! What i feel is the only department working is the Defence (Army) who selflessly look after the country!! And are the real heroes that need to be appreciated!! Progression maybe difficult but we dont want the state to detoriate! And the Army could be the perfect foil to keep it protected!!! Bt one man stands out that would be Imran Khan!! Who gave us two best institutes! Namely Namal and Shaukat Khanam!! Doing selflessly for the people what the army does!! I now am not such a huge fan of democracy and feel if the country would be under the army and backing imran khan then the country would progress and be protected at the same time!! I dont see this happening but i hope it would be a reality some day!! I also hope that someone from any corner of Pakistan would agree or see as to what i see and to assume what it would be like if what i stated becomes true, so that i wont feel like a retard,socially unacceptable drunk and out of my mind after writing this blogpost!
Hope we the youth come out of confusions soon. And the habit that nearly all of us have developed in the past 7 to 8 years after "News channels" came to be, of what is essentially a 'drawing-room' discussion, leading one to conflicts and more confusions, i pray, end some day so that we may start relying on our own Analytic powers and develop a critical approach as to what is right and what is wrong, rather than 'blindly' believing what the 'glamorous' news-caster/analyst talking in a most irrational, emotional and not-so-sound an approach, has to say to us!!
ReplyDeleteWhen a nation wants to help itself, it need to avoid 'promoting' its 'failures','disasters', and 'hopelessness'. Instead it should try reflecting on its strengths as well, so that its youth may become hopeful and see the bright future in front of it.
As far as politics is concerned, i agree with your stance, that it is one of the most 'hot-n-spicy' thing we discuss everyday, but rarely any of us wants to bring some practical change.
If I find a fault somewhere, why not I volunteer to help bring the change, why rely on others?
Army is an institute which has been and is still the most powerful, disciplined, and lawful institute among others of our country. And I have no reservations if they take over the country in such circumstances as faced by us today, because the biggest thing this nation needs to have at present is probably good discipline among its masses, so that we may identify our foes and friends in the light of this discipline.
Right now we are confused, confused as to whom we should rely on, as to what is right and what is wrong for us, and as to who are our enemies or what is destroying us the most.
Our attitude mainly relies on trying to find a scapegoat, which is not what great nations do, and it something that can ruin even the greatest of all people.

ReplyDeleteAs far as people like Imran Khan are concerned, my views are different (and I feel ahead of my time too, for no soon will others may take the same stance as that of mine).
Strength of the large empires (especially Muslim empires) lies in their strong central governments/armies/politics. For this purpose we need large and fully equipped political parties (this is what Jinnah also felt during Pak movement, and he used all resources to help Muslim League develop). Imran Khan is a one-man-show and we could hope for better days if our one-man has other abilities which may one day help enlarge his party.
Coming to this one-man, how many of us knows his political and parliamentarian abilities (apart from his habit as to condemn and to go against whatever the party in power has to say/bring forward). Is he a person who has got skills as to come up with practical solutions to our problems? or someone who simply indulges in the same 'drawing-room' discussions in a fervent manner, which u condemned? ask yourself this question.
Does any of his words speak of our past dignity and present positive possibilities in a hopeful manner?
Is he a man of highest personal and social character? (not forgetting his illegitimate daughter)
Is he someone who can represent our youth so that they may not fall into the traps of west or india? (not forgetting his background linked with many of the western countries)
Can u claim that he is corruption-free? (taking into account his mansions and farm-houses in Islamabad and else-where)
His only success is Shaukat Khanum, but who are funding it? many of us, me and you, and our parents donate handsome amounts of money for it every year, so basically it isn't JUST his success but we have a share in it too. And u can not possibly give such a person a high-chair in every-sector of life, even if giving him all the credit for his social work. We need to understand that every social worker can not be made the head of the state. His university, backed by a 'nice' foreign degree is surely not what the founders of the nation would have liked to make because at present (more than ever) we are in a need to develop ourselves independently of any foreign help or idea. And a university is an ideal place to pollute young minds with foreign (and at times against the country) ideas and feelings. So this is no more a success for him, in my eyes.
What remains for the Pakistanis to do now is not to think of ways to "flight" but to "fight" and develop themselves morally, ethically, educationally, literary, socially, religiously and politically in a way that our definitions about life and Pakistan and all the things relating to us and the country are PROPERLY DEVISED. We need to come out of bewilderment, out of all the ideas we have been importing and rely on our own hands and resources, because these resources are the best any person in this world is looking for, and we are lucky to be the treasurers of such a history, legacy, ideals, morals, goals and religion.
May Pakistan prosper always, Ameen!
